Yet another busy month propels Lead Prosper closer to the end of 2023. From new hires to an inaugural article series, November’s monthly roundup will discuss all things Lead Prosper from the past month- new features, happenings, news- as well as insights into what has gone on in the world of lead gen.
Navigating New FCC Regulations
First published on Nov. 22, the Federal Communications Commission announced several proposed orders and notices regarding “Combatting Illegal Text Messages”. The notice details plans to target multiple facets of telecommunication marketing such as illegal robo texting, extending Do-Not-Call protections to texts and closing lead generator loopholes. Notably, the latter of these targets will most certainly affect various parts of the lead gen industry. Lead Prosper Chief Executive Officer Ross Breiman says the company has plans to help lead others in the right direction with the uncertainty of the proposals by the FCC.
“There’s a new FCC ruling coming out, there’s some information now posted online, but we don’t know the specifics yet until December 13. What they’re talking about is one to one, consent-based marketing- and that really affects a lot of people in the lead gen space. Lead Prosper as a company, we are already talking about ways to solve this. We’ve posted an article, “Navigating FCC Regulations: A New Era for Ping Post” and we have a few other ideas up there to help lead generators and do one on one consent marketing. But, I think as an industry, we’re all kind of waiting until December 13 to see what the actual rules are. This will shake up the industry for sure,” Breiman said.
New Faces In November
The month of November saw new faces join the Lead Prosper ranks.
Jackie Akey, Head of Customer Success at Lead Prosper, makes up one of this month’s new hires. Along with starting her role earlier this month, Akey - who works remotely - was able to visit the company office in Asheville and meet other members of the team.
“I think the team has been incredibly welcoming. Another adjective I could use is ‘fast-paced’. We've started on initiatives, almost the first day, in terms of working towards putting me in a place where I'm going to succeed,”
— Akey said.
“In terms of that welcoming theme, the first thing I was asked when I visited was, ‘could I do a pull-up?’ because there was an ongoing pull-up competition. I think for the first time I felt immediately welcomed into the environment, and that's just kind of the culture I think Lead Prosper has. It's one of the reasons why I wanted to join the team in the first place. I didn't feel like it was any different and as a woman. I know that's not something that a lot of people think of, but when you're going into a group with all men, to get the feeling that you're not just looked at as the only female in the room is so different. So it made me really happy visiting.”
One part of Akey’s fast-paced start can be attributed to both her prior experience in the lead gen world and having used Lead Prosper’s software before working for the company. Akey explains how her prior use of Lead Prosper has helped with her exceptional start to the company.
“With my role being head of customer success I'm able to put myself in the shoes of customers, which is really important because you don't always get that vantage point when you're just starting out. So, having utilized the platform first is a great place to be in.”
— Garrett Krinsky, Chief Operating Officer at Lead Prosper, also spoke on the company’s new hires.
“I’m excited to see how the new hires are going to provide more value to our users as well as the company so that we can keep building Lead Prosper and expanding. It's just exciting to bring new people to the table, open up other opportunities for expansion and innovation within the product and help improve our offerings to our users”
— Krinsky said.
Coming February 2024 - New Monthly Pricing
Earlier in the month, Lead Prosper announced their new pricing plan which is scheduled to be enacted on Feb. 1, 2024. Included in the pricing change is a new $500 monthly minimum per account. Krinsky noted some of the decisions that led to the price change, including Lead Prosper’s growing user base and the team’s plan to contribute more content and resources for the company’s customers.
“The price change was a difficult decision for us to make, however, we've been inundated with positive responses to it. It's the right move for us as a company and also as a business, we want to be able to continue to provide the best quality product as well as our top tier support to our users,”
— Krinsky said.
“We're not trying to just make a buck, we're trying to help people as well and help build up this industry. The whole point is to be able to continue to provide the customer support that we give to our users, but at the same time, we're also going to be expanding on a lot more such as the educational resources, webinars, keynote speaking and providing more value outside of the software to the industry as a whole.”
Joining the company just one day before Lead Prosper announced its pricing change, Akey says she has been eager to start work on the project.
“I think I'm most excited about the project because it gives us the fuel to essentially continue to improve on the platform and offer that high level of success as our platform grows. We've been doubling year after year and that increasingly puts pressure on support to continue the standard of utmost customer success, so that 500 minimum will help there. But it will also help with many of the innovations that we have passing through the platform and I think users will continue to see outstanding improvements as the industry shifts and shapes up to be completely different next year,”
— Akey said.
Breiman, CEO of Lead Prosper, also commented on the company’s decision for the pricing change and what the decision will help provide for the future of the company.
“We’re putting out an exceptional product, and we’ve made new hires. We have a lot of new features coming out and the pricing change will be able to help fuel the fire even more and help the company grow and keep putting out that top-tier product,” Breiman said.

Lead Prosper’s first article series, “Lead Gen 101 with Lead Prosper,” got off to a great start this month. The series was created to explore and detail various topics in the industry of lead gen for readers including those who are new to the industry to experienced lead generators. The three articles so far have included a brief overview of lead gen, Lead Prosper’s Lead Gen Glossary and the different players of lead gen. Breiman, who thought of the idea to make an educational series, has enjoyed seeing the project grow.
“I think it’s been awesome. We’re able to put out content for people in our industry or people new to the industry. It’s been fun to talk about our industry and break it down and I think it opens up more conversations with our users, the team internally and people who might want to use Lead Prosper. They’ll look at us and see that ‘they know what they are talking about’ or ‘we can ask them questions and will get the right answers back’”
— said Breiman, originator of the series idea.
Krinsky, who has also helped work on the series, details his thoughts on the series so far and future plans for “Lead Gen 101 with Lead Prosper.”
“This is just the start, it's going to be a baseline for the basic information about lead gen, how it works and the industry as a whole. We're hoping to continue to expand on it as time goes on and more things change and innovate. Over time, we're going to continue to add to it so that we can not only have a resource for people to learn from but also educate and allow our users to trust that our product is built by people in this industry, for people in this industry and education is a big part of our philosophy in that whole realm”
— Krinsky said.
The series has articles lined up each week for the rest of 2023 and plans to continue into the new year.
Lead Prosper’s 2023 In-Person Meet Up
The week before Thanksgiving saw both familiar and new faces in the Asheville office. Lead Prosper hosted in-person meetings on Nov. 16 and 17 as well as having a company outing at The Silo Cookhouse at The Horse Shoe Farm on Nov. 17. Breiman explains what the meet up meant for Lead Prosper and how it was to see most of the members of the company.
“It was great to have almost everyone in one place. It’s not often we get to do that, especially with our new hires. I think it's awesome to get everyone together and get to hang out and get comfortable on a personal level as well as set aside the time to map out the end of this quarter and all of next year. We got to talk about all of the exciting features we have planned and where we want to go with Lead Prosper. It’s fun to do that in person,”
— Breiman said.
“We are really looking forward to 2024, it’s going to be a big year for Lead Prosper, we’re excited.”
Krinsky, who joined Lead Prosper earlier this year, had the opportunity to meet a lot of the team for the first time during November’s gathering.
“While most of the team is based out of our Asheville offices, we have some members that are remote. We generally meet up at conferences throughout the year, but to have the entire Lead Prosper team under one roof and to be able to work together, collaborate in person and also just have time together to hang out was a great overall experience. We're really looking forward to doing more of those in the new year,”
— Krinsky said.
