The Lead Prosper Post - February 2024

It has been another exciting month for Lead Prosper! As 2024 continues to fly by, we are already at the end of February with the latest edition of the Lead Prosper Post. Catch up on the Federal Communications Commission’s industry concerning rulings and hear about our newest Lead Gen 101 articles.

The FCC’s Lead Gen Regulations Update

February 26 was the deadline to submit a public comment to the Federal Communications Commission and give your opinion on how you or your business might be affected by the One-to-One Consent and Anti-Robocall rulings. Learn more about these rulings by reading our article The FCC's “Anti-Robocall” Ruling: A Deeper Dive and Lead Prosper’s Plan.

Although the deadline to submit a comment to the FCC has passed, you still have the opportunity to submit a reply comment by March 11, 2024. With a reply comment you are able to review comments that others have made on the FCC’s rulings and then reply in support or disagreement with the comment’s stance.

Comments and reply comments are extremely important for the public to have a part in the FCC’s decision making process. After March 11, the Commissioners and staff of the FCC will review what the public has said in response to their rulings. They will take the comments and reply comments into consideration and then they may issue a Report & Order to amend their proposed ruling or make a decision not to do so.

Whether you submitted a comment or not be sure to submit a reply comment by the deadline and have your voice heard!

Here are some important dates to keep in mind for the upcoming lead gen specific FCC regulations:

  • Reply comments are due on March 11, 2024.
  • The amendment to the do-not-call registry rule for text messages will be put into place on March 26, 2024.
  • The text blocking rule will be effective on July 24, 2024.
  • The One-to-One consent deadline is set for January 27, 2025.
